Sahar's passion for art has been evident since a young age. She has worked as an assistant professor of water photography at Brooklyn College and has organized art exhibitions in New York. She has also served as an evaluator for two art competitions in Yemen. Sahar has opened four solo shows and participated in over 50 group shows and biennales across various countries, including the USA, Yemen, Dubai, Egypt, Turkey, Italy, France, Qatar, and Algeria. Additionally, her artwork has been showcased in numerous virtual galleries.
She possesses expertise in various mediums and techniques, although she frequently employs oil paints with occasional additions of acrylic paints and stained glass elements, drawing inspiration from "Qamaria," the windows of the moon, as well as ancient fabrics. Sahar's artwork often embodies a harmonious blend of realism and abstraction. Her preferred subjects encompass horses and portraits of individuals adorned in traditional fabrics, through which she weaves captivating narratives and amplifies their voices.
Additionally, she presents the aesthetic aspects of Yemen's rich cultural heritage.
Sahar incorporates both texts and traditional patterns in her artwork, showcasing her love for both drawing and handwriting while aiming to showcase the beauty and wisdom of Arabic calligraphy, Yemeni architecture, and ancient cultures. Through the vibrant application of colors, patterns, and letters, she ties together the narrative behind her paintings while leaving room for the viewer's imagination to interpret their own meanings.
